Nepal is blessed with so many sites of Natural Heritages. From the very early period, this sacred land is serving as the best pilgrimage destinations for the people of Hindu religion. There were so many ancient sages who resided in this land and the cultural practice that they taught to the people has been transferring from generations to generations. This particular trip which is named as Hindu Pilgrimage tour takes you to the most famous pilgrimage site popular in Nepal. Many of the Hindu Devotees regard Pashupatinath temple and the temple of Muktinath to be the most sacred site for pilgrimage from ages.
The famous temple of Muktinath lies in the district of Mustang. The temple of Muktinath is revered as the site of equal importance for Hindus as well as Buddhist pilgrimage. This temple shows the strong bonding between these two religions in Nepal. This temple is situated 48 km northeast from Jomsom at an altitude of around 3749 m. The main shrine of the temple is Pagoda-shaped and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Just behind the temple are the 108 waterspouts cast in the shape of cow-head and it pours holy water. It is recommended to take bath in all of this holy water (to mention the water at this altitude is icy-cold). During the festival of Janai Purnima, Hindu devotees gather to this place to pay homage to the Lord Muktinath. Another famous temple near Muktinath is the temple of Jwaladevi, also referred as the goddess of flame. It is situated around hundred meters south of the Muktinath Temple.
There are two ways to get to Muktinath from Kathmandu. Either take a direct flight from Kathmandu via Pokhara to Jomsom, hike for a couple of hours via Kagbeni or trek all the way from Pokhara. There is also an air service from Pokhara to Jomsom.
Pashupati marks as one of the four most important religious sites in Asia for the devotees of Shiva. The Pashupatinath Temple is the largest Hindu temple and is considered to be the holiest of all Hindu Temples. This is a two-tiered golden temple with four silver doorways, hundreds of Shiva linga's shrines and holy symbols. It is located on the holy river Bagmati, 6 km east of Kathmandu. Pashupatinath Temple has its own norms and it does not allow Non- Hindus to enter this temple.
It is believed that this temple was built long before the Christian era began. The Pashupatinath Temple was built in the fifth century and later renovated by Malla kings. The original beauty of this temple is still preserved and in most of the places are the sculpted stone sculptures. This temple sees thousands of Hindu devotees at the time of Maha Shivaratri every year.
