The team of Age Holidays invites you all to make this enthralling Buddhist pilgrimage tour that follows the famous footsteps of the Gautama the Buddha. This tour package leads us to the birthplace of the Buddha. Gautama the Buddha was born as a prince Siddhartha Gautam in Lumbini. At the age of 29 he left his kingdom to make a search of his quest. By and by he went to various lands to get the knowledge of the self. During his roaming period, at the age of 49 he received Mahaparinirvana. He attained this state under a Bodhi Tree in India. Thus that place got famous as Bodha Gaya. Our tour further takes us to Saravasthi where Gautama the Buddha gave his first lecture after he received his Mahaparinirvana. The tour further leads towards Patna, Nalanda and Varanasi. Varanasi is a very famous site for pilgrimage to both Buddhist and the Hindus. Day 1: Arrive Kathmandu.
Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, a representative of Age Holidays will receive you from the Tribhuvan International Airport. There is proper arrangement of transportation facilities from airport to the hotel where you will be residing for overnight. You can enjoy the rest of the time in the hotel or stroll around the ancient streets of Thamel. In the evening, Age Holidays will host a dinner program along with some cultural program. It will also provide you with an opportunity to meet the staffs of the company. They will also be briefing you about the trip that you are making.

Day 2: Sightseeing Kathmandu.
This day begins with the breakfast in the hotel. After breakfast, start the guided tours to the various sites of Buddhist pilgrimages around the Kathmandu valley. The tour begins from the temple of Swayambhunath. This temple marks the pilgrimage site of equal importance to both Hindus and the Buddhist. From Swayambhunath, we head towards the Stupa of Bouddhanath. Bouddhanath also marks as one of the prominent Buddhist pilgrimage site of the Kathmandu valley. The dome of Boudhanath is considered to be one of the biggest shrines of Nepal. Furthermore, the tour continues towards Naropa and Tilopa caves of Pashupatinath. The tour further leads to the oldest existing Buddhist city of Patan. After visiting Patan, we get back to Kathmandu to have our overnight stay.

Day 3: Fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara & Sightseeing.
This day, depending upon the schedule of your flight, a representative of Age Holidays will take you to the domestic airport of Kathmandu to transfer you to Pokhara. To get to Pokhara by air, it takes around 30 minutes. After the check in formality at the airport, a representative of the company meets you and drops you at the hotel. You can keep your luggage at the hotel and after lunch, we begin our guided city tour of Pokhara. The tour includes the famous lake of Pokhara, the Phewa Lake. In the same way the tour also takes you to the David’s falls and caves of the famous city of Pokhara. After the completion of the tour, we get back to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 4: Drive from Pokhara to Lumbini.
On this day, we leave Pokhara and start a journey towards Lumbini in a bus. The road from Pokhara towards Lumbini is blessed with perfect natural sceneries. Enjoying those sceneries, by and by we reach Lumbini. Upon reaching Lumbini, we get to the best hotel of Lumbini for our overnight stay.

Day 5: Lumbini Sightseeing and drive to Saravasthi.
This day marks as the day for having sightseeing around the Lumbini. Lumbini is famous as the birth place of Buddha. There are famous temples and monasteries built by different countries in this place. There are also various museums and monuments in this place to pay a homage to Lord Buddha. After having a guided tour at these temples, monasteries and Stupas, we embark on the journey towards Saravasthi. Saravasthi lies in India and is famous as Lord Buddha gave his first teaching there after he received his enlightenment.

Day 6: Drive from Sravasthi to Kusinagar sightseeing.
On this day, we drive from Sravasthi towards Kushinagar. After reaching Kusinagar, we check in a hotel. After check in, we visit Rambhar Stupa. This place marks as the cremation ground of Buddha. After visiting this place, we go towards Mahaparinirvana temple. This temple houses the recumbent figure of the Lord Buddha. After visiting these places, we get back to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 7: Drive from Kusinagar to Patna.
On this day we drive from Kusinagar towards Patna. After reaching Patna and check-in in a hotel, we visit Har Mandir sahib, which is also popularly known as Patna Sahib. This temple is dedicated to the 10th of the Shikh guru. Patna also possesses museums consisting various interesting facts regarding Buddhist scriptures. After visiting this Museum, we get back to the hotel for our overnight stay.

Day 8: Drive from Patna to Nalanda Rajgir and then to Boddhgaya.
On this day we drive from Patna towards Nalanda. Nalanda is also one of the famous sites for Buddhist pilgrims. After visiting Nalanda, we again embark in the journey leading us towards Bodhgaya. Upon reaching Bodhgaya, we check in a hotel for our overnight stay.

Day 9: Boddhgaya Sightseeing.
In the morning we start our sightseeing tour towards Bodhgaya. At Bodhgaya, there is a famous temple of Mahabodi which describes various phases of Buddha’s journey towards enlightenment. It also shows the various aspects of the life of Buddha. There is also a famous Archeological museum at Bodhgaya which has a collection of the Buddhist scriptures from first century BC to the 11th century A.D. Very close to Bodhgaya, is the famous temple of Jagannath, this sculpture has four arms and is paved in a black stone. After visiting this pilgrimage site, we get back to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 10: Drive from Boddhgaya to Varanasi.
From Bodhgaya, we drive towards Varanasi on this day. Varanasi is famous not only for the Hindu devotees but also the Buddhists. The fame of Varanasi among the Hindu devotees is that this place used to serve as a place from where the scriptures of Sanskrit were studied in a minute detail. This place is also famous for the Buddhist devotees as Buddha gave lessons to these first five students at this place. Upon reaching Varanasi, we go to one of the hotels in Banaras for overnight stay.

Day 11: Varanasi sightseeing-afternoon transfer to Airport flies to Kathmandu.
This day marks as the last day of this tour in India. There are so many Buddhist pilgrimage sites located at this place. Banaras is considered to be the place from where Buddha turned the wheels of law (Dharma chakra) and gave teachings to his first five students from this place. In the after, we transfer you to the airport for your departure to Kathmandu. Upon arriving in the airport, a representative of Age Holidays will receive you and transfer you to your designated hotel for overnight stay.

Day 12: Shopping, Sightseeing, farewell dinner with Age Holidays.
This is a free day in Kathmandu. You can spend this day on your own by roaming around the ancient streets of Thamel. Most of the Nepalese around Thamel speak English, so it is very easy to start a communication there and make friends instantly. In the evening, the team of Age Holidays will host a special dinner program to celebrate the successful completion of your tour. Your overnight would be in a hotel in Thamel for this night.

Day 13: Transfer to Airport.
This is the last day of your stay with us for this time. Our representative will drop you to the International Airport for your final departure. You can also opt to extend your stay with us for yet another adventure with the family of Age Holidays.
