Trip Overview
Bardiya National Park, located on the eastern bank of the Karnali River in the Bardiya district, is the largest and most pristine wilderness area in Nepal’s Terai region. Established to protect vital ecosystems and conserve the tiger and its prey species, the park is renowned for its alluvial grasslands and subtropical moist deciduous forests, making it a captivating destination for nature enthusiasts.

Spanning over 70% forest, grassland, savannah, and riverine forest, Bardiya National Park is home to 53 mammal species, including rhinoceros, wild elephants, Bengal tigers, swamp deer, and Gangetic dolphins. The park also boasts 407 species of birds, with notable attractions such as the Bengal florican, white-rumped vulture, peafowl, and bar-headed geese.
This jungle safari offers the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in nature, with activities like tiger tracking, jungle walks, bird watching, wildlife sightings, jeep safaris, dolphin sightings, camping, and hiking.
Trip Highlights
Take a flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj. Upon arrival, the resort staff will greet you and transfer you to the resort. Once at the resort, you’ll receive a briefing about your stay. Explore Tharu life and culture with a guided tour of a Tharu village and its cultural highlights. Next, we’ll visit the Tharu Museum. In the evening, we’ll tour the Crocodile Breeding Center before returning to the resort.
After breakfast, we’ll head to Bardia National Park for a jungle walk to observe the wildlife. Walking through the park offers a chance to explore its diverse jungle, grasslands, and rivers. It’s the perfect way to get up close to nature and wildlife. If we’re lucky, we may even spot the Gangetic Dolphin.
Today, we continue exploring Bardia National Park, venturing into tiger territory in hopes of spotting some tigers. Afterward, enjoy a Jeep safari to observe more wildlife. Rafting in the Karnali River is optional. We’ll conclude the day with dinner at the resort.
Today, we start with an early morning bird watching session, followed by time to relax or explore the surrounding village. After breakfast, we’ll visit the Elephant Breeding Center. We’ll then drive back to Nepalgunj for our scheduled flight to Kathmandu. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you’ll be transferred to your hotel.
